About the bells

The stone tower is undivided externally and topped by a battlemented parapet. The clock, which has faces to the east and south, was installed in 1892. Two diagonal buttresses support the tower at its north- and south-western corners. The tower was built in 1847, replacing an earlier structure: an illustration of the church made in the early 19th century shows a weather-boarded tower. In 1971, an extension to the south side was added to provide two meeting rooms and, when the floor was inserted into the tower, it was extended into the balcony to give extra room. The organ was also relocated to the newly-enlarged balcony.
